Swaptek is the part of the H3C that people keep asking about. Nine independent PrintTools, each parked at its own dock, each staying loaded and heated, so a material change takes 6 seconds instead of a full unload-purge-load cycle. Here is what Bambu has confirmed — and what it still has not.
Swaptek is Bambu Lab's name for the H3C's multi-tool system. The printer carries nine separate PrintTools. When a job needs a different material or a different process tool, the head picks that tool up from its dock and continues. Because the tool never left its dock cold, there is no unload, no purge tower, and no re-prime before printing resumes.
That is the whole idea, and it is the reason the swap is quoted in seconds rather than minutes.

On a single-nozzle printer, changing material is a chain of steps: cut or unload the old filament, purge the hotend, load the new filament, purge again to clear the transition, then resume. Every one of those steps costs time and produces waste plastic.
Swaptek removes the chain. The next tool is already at printing temperature and already loaded, so the machine only moves to the dock and picks it up. Bambu quotes 6 seconds for that move.
The practical effect is that a 9-material job stops behaving like nine separate prints stitched together, and starts behaving like one print with nine colors.
Swaptek is not only about different plastics. Bambu also ships process tools that do non-extrusion work inside the same job:
These occupy tool slots in the same nine-tool dock, which is worth remembering when you plan a job that needs, say, six colors plus one process tool.
Bambu has not published every detail, and this site does not fill gaps with guesses. These items are genuinely unconfirmed as of November 6, 2026:
| Question | Status |
|---|---|
| Available nozzle diameters per tool (0.2 / 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm) | UNKNOWN |
| Whether every tool can run 2.85 mm FlexFeed, or only some | UNKNOWN |
| Whether multiple tools can print simultaneously in one pass | UNKNOWN |
| Dock standby temperature and idle heating power draw | UNKNOWN |
| Exact maximum active chamber temperature | UNKNOWN |
| Tool change failure handling / recovery procedure | UNKNOWN |
If Bambu publishes any of these, they move to confirmed and this table gets updated.
Six seconds. Bambu says each PrintTool stays at its dock, loaded and heated, so the head only has to pick it up and continue printing.
Yes. The H3C uses 9 independent PrintTools, and every one of them is a hardened-steel nozzle rated to 350°C and HRC 55+.
Swaptek is Bambu's name for the H3C multi-tool system: nine tools parked at a dock, picked up on demand, rather than one nozzle that must be unloaded and purged between materials.
Bambu has not published whether multiple tools can print simultaneously. The confirmed claim is 9-material printing in one job, with tools swapped in 6 seconds.
Yes. Bambu's official wording is "HRC 55+, all of them", which applies to all nine tools.
